We had a productive Board meeting Feb 13th hosted by our friends at Nolte Associates in Carmel Mountain.
In attendance were Lorenda Lee, Dan Henderson, Tobias Wolf, Melisa Caric, Yuying Li, Blanca Quintero, Adrienne Perry, Tim Craig and our hostess Amy Storey.
Items discussed included new Board members, CalGIS 2008 (do we want to have a booth?), CalGIS 2009 and CalGIS 2010 (in Southern California!), and updating published duties of Board Members.
We then tried something new and broke out into three groups for brainstorming sessions on different topics. These groups would also form ongoing working committees. The topics were Program/Meetings, Website, and Newsletter. We found many areas of overlap during the reporting back to the group. This exercise helped us to identify areas needing work and to come up with plans on steps to take in the coming year to improve on the activities, education and membership of the group.
